Anne is the author of Secret Kansas City (Reedy Press, Sept. 2020) and a Kansas City-based freelance writer who is a regular contributor to KCUR 89.3 (NPR in Kansas City), and sometimes to the Kansas City Star and The Pitch. Her work has also been published by the Smithsonian, National Public Radio, the Saturday Evening Post, Electric Literature, Ploughshares, Publishers Weekly, The Punch Magazine (India), the Los Angeles Review of Books, the Chicago Review of Books, the Glasgow Review of Books, Rain Taxi, and Drink Me Magazine. Locally, her work has also appeared in Flatland, The Beacon, In Kansas City Magazine, and on the Kauffman Foundation’s website. Additionally, she is a budding voice over talent signed with Exposure.
Anne is a graduate of St. John’s College, Santa Fe, and has a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing/Media Arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she serves on the College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Board. She is also a graduate of the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, CA, and a Navy veteran.
